oh hello new favourite braclet
I was looking for a gold bracelet, full stop. I wasn't looking for stones and almost skipped this because I thought the sparkle might make it too dressy. Then I kept coming back to the twisted shape. I'm glad I did.
From a normal distance the gold is what I see. The tiny stones are more like bright little stripes across it. In strong light they glitter, but in softer light you can still enjoy the texture of the gold. That matters to me because I don't want jewelry that only looks interesting under shop lights.
It also bends more than I expected. The photo made me imagine something almost like a bangle. On my wrist it follows the shape and moves a little as I use my hand. I wore it through a long lunch, a walk and a train journey on the first day without wanting to remove it. I did take it off when I got home to cook.
The closure is neat enough that I had to look for it the first time. Once I'd found it, opening and closing it was straightforward, though I need my glasses. I need my glasses to read a cereal box now, so I'm not blaming the bracelet.
My daughter called it 'very you', which I think means slightly more gold than strictly necessary. Correct. I've worn it with old jeans, a work dress and my least respectable cardigan. It has looked lovely each time. About two months in now and the little stone rows still look complete when I check them in daylight. I'm glad I didn't rule it out just because it had sparkle.
Would love a version a little narrower. This one makes more of a statement.
